Institute of Himalayan Bio-resource Technology (IHBT), Palampur

IHBT, a constituent laboratory of the Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is tasked to support the development of an industrial R & D base for establishment, upgradation, and sustainable management of bio-resources from the Himalayan region through agro-technology, processing technology and biotechnology.

IHBT has been engaged in research in plant tissue culture towards micro-propagation of bamboo species. It has developed the protocol for tissue culture of Dendrocalamus hamiltonii.
