Decidious

Falling off of parts at a particular stage of growth (opposite of ppersistent); usually applied to structures that fall off rather quickly. Densely compactly, thickly elliptic oval in outline, wide about the middle

Decurrent
Having the leaf base extending down the stem below the insertion
Desiccant
A hygroscopic chemical which absorbs moisture and thus can be used as a drying agent
Diffuse Clump
Evenly spaced culms rather distant from each other
Diffusion
In bamboo preservation, a process by which a water – borne preservative is applied to fresh bamboo by steeping or dipping and moves under the force of concentration gradient
Dipping
Preservative process in which fresh bamboo is completely immersed in a preservative solution
Durability
The natural ability of the material to be resistant against insect and fungal attack without any other measure
